If you’re a sports fan and looking to take a trip with your recreational vehicle (RV), there are several beautiful locations around the nation to put atop your to-go list.

There are 30 Major League Baseball teams: 29 of them are in the United States, with the Toronto Blue Jays in Ontario being Canada’s lone MLB club. The 29 American-based teams’ ballparks and their spring training facilities are located in different areas across the nation.

If you’re looking to visit different cities, states and ballparks in your RV, there are all sorts of different locations and trips to plan around. Here are a handful of the top spring training vacation destinations to consider for your trip on the road.

Florida

The Sunshine State is home to two MLB clubs in the Tampa Bay Rays and the Miami Marlins (previously the “Florida Marlins”), who play in the AL East and the NL East divisions, respectively.

Miami has only qualified for the postseason three times in history — 1997, 2003 and 2020 — but they went on to win the World Series in their first two playoff appearances. The Marlins play at the beautiful LoanDepot Park in Miami that opened in 2012, the same year the organization introduced new jerseys and logos and rebranded themselves as the “Miami Marlins.

About 265 miles north of LoanDepot Park is Tropicana Field, the home of the Rays, in St. Petersburg. The Rays have played their home games at this venue since their inaugural season in 1998.

If you’re traveling in your RV during spring training season, you can check out a Rays’ exhibition game at Charlotte Sports Park in Port Charlotte (about 86 miles south of St. Petersburg. The Marlins and the St. Louis Cardinals play their spring training games at Roger Dean Stadium in Jupiter.

The Red Sox, their spring training facility of JetBlue Park is located in Fort Myers.
